all about ssoa!

Every student in Suzuki Strings of Austin takes a weekly private lesson, learns alongside their peers in group classes (weekly in summer and every other week during the school year), and has performance and community building opportunities through group performances and special events. We are a year round program. Our tuition is all-inclusive and families pay monthly online. Each student has a primary teacher with whom they take private lessons, and we have a wonderful network of additional teachers who teach group classes and lead program events. We prioritize coming together as a community as often as possible!

We expect families at the beginner level to practice 10 minutes (or more) every day with their child and listen to the Suzuki music for an hour (or more) every day, plus their current working piece 5 times. Your private teacher will guide you through how to practice at home, and there are practicing and listening resources for SSOA students to use at home on our website.

We expect all prospective families to observe one or more group classes and attend a private trial lesson before becoming a part of Suzuki Strings of Austin. Contact us to learn more about how to start this process, or check out our group class and events schedule below to drop in anytime!
